komposition no. 8

Komposition No. 8 is a quilt that I created as an homage to and 1/2 scale

 model of the famous painting by Piet Mondrian.  All of the fabrics are hand

 dyed using Procion fiber reactive dyes.  They are colorfast and resist fading.

 Each piece of fabric was dyed specifically to match the original painting.

 Hand made bias tape was used to replicate the heavy black lines of the

 original painting.  The quilting follows the heavy black lines so that it is not

 seen in the fields of color.  Komposition No. 8 is approximately 14" x 14".
